Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Did you try the patch with an expression pedal? It sounds pretty dubstepy to me. Admittedly I don't listen to much dubstep but it is a wobbly patch. Try using different synths and the ringmod with something that you can change the rate of the effect with an expression pedal like the trem or rotovibe or the slicer. You'll get pretty close to the sounds I've heard in the limited amount of dubstep I've listened to. You definitely need an expression pedal to get this kind of sound. So much of it seems to depend on something with lfo having the rate swept through varying speeds. I hear a lot of ringmod and bitcrusher sounds in that kind of music as well.

So the UPS man delivered my new toy this evening, and I just looked up about 15 minutes ago and found I'd spent almost four hours just going through the presets... granted, I did hang out on a few of them for a little while... tapping... who'da thunk?

I can hardly wait for tomorrow.

Hey, are there alternatives to the Zoom expression pedal, or is that the one to go with?

Ok so I have been killing trying to get that sir psycho sexy sound down using so many analog effect combinations/ first day with the b3 I think I have it nailed. Ill post back with exact settings but I basically put the z tron in front of a synth, not even sure which one, it looks like it says zoo..... ??

Ahh I'm so hyped. Even if that's all I use this for totally worth it.

Cool!

If you're using Zoom Edit & Share then why not upload your patch to the library too?

Wow I just checked out the database AMAzing. I was really considering selling this thing within the first few minutes. But for the 150$ I paid if it can cop two pedals it's worth it, he'll the USB interface is worth it alone. Just used it during a gig, only using the compressor and the flip top. I do like the punch I'm used to from the compressor, however, and maybe it's just my horrible understanding of compressors. I wish it worked on volume spikes of effects. It seems it has no effect on the pedal infront of it. Which is how I use my analog compressirs

Hi Guys.. How do you get your Custom Patches from the Edit And Share Program onto you B3? In the Software under the B3, it don't let me add any new folders or anything?

I would like to keep all the ones that came on it and add my own.. But not sure how..

Can you only save Custom patches to your PC and you have to have your B3 hooked to the PC in order to use them?

Thanks!

This was covered previously here.
Your B3 will only hold 100 patches at the one time and it comes with 100 from the factory.

(You're in the wrong thread here BTW. This one's mainly for displaying/sharing patches that B3 users have come up with) ;)

Thanks for the Info.. I realized after I posted it I probably should have put it under the main B3 one.. Thanks!

The B3 Manual kind of Sucks BTW...

Please send me a link to your band. I'd love to hear you.

As for patches, you can't go wrong with the Flangers and Phasers. Sometimes I like to toss in a little bass synth to fatten up the bottom end in a more electronic way.

Oh, and be sure to check out the Pitch Delay. That thing is crazy.

Just picked up the B3 today and its incredible. I'm playing in a dark wave/post punk band. Any suggestions on which patches might be a good launching point. Out music sits somewhere between My Bloody Valentine and Joy Division.

Here's a pretty cool patch I've recently came up with. this is for all you prince fans out there. this patch duplicates a modulated delay effect that can be heard from the song modernaire by dez dickerson(which this song appeared in the movie purple rain). a great patch to try out for bass solos.

Dez bass

Section 1: acoustic: bass:4, Mid:3, treble:5, midfq:400hz, gain:45,
Level:90, Bright: off, cab:ha4x10, mix:50

Section 2: moddelay: time:300, f.b:45, mix:50, rate:18, level:100, depth:59

Section 3: flanger: depth:77, rate:40, reso:5, predelay:2, mix:90, level:90, locut:180hz

In case you're not familiar with the song modernaire by dez dickerson, here's a youtube clip of the song. check it out. the intro to the song is what this patch duplicates.

Here's a patch that I've come up with. this patch is requested by essential junk(hope you like this patch, dude). this patch is a warm dark sound with a smooth lush chorus. a great patch for goth rock and darkwave music.

Darkwave bass

Section 1: limiter: thresh:18, ratio:5, level:70, release:4

Section 2: chorus: depth:59, rate:17, mix:57, locut:180hz, predelay: on

Section 3: ag bass: bass:4, mid:3, treble:4, midfq:300hz, gain:40, level:64, char:both, cab:swr4x10, mix:50

Here's another patch I've come up with. this patch is similar to the darkwave bass patch, only with a flanger effect.

Darkwave bass 2

Section 1: limiter: thresh:18, ratio:5, level:70, release:4

Section 2: flanger: depth:75, rate:25, reso:5, mix:85, level: 90,locut:180hz

Section 3: ag bass: bass:4, mid:3, treble:4, midfq:300hz, gain:40, level:64, char:both, cab:swr4x10, mix:50

Here's a new patch that I've come up with. this patch is a close attempt to duplicate the video game bass sound from some turbo graphix 16 games. a cool patch to try out for experimental and electronica music and also if you're a fan of retro video games.

V.G bass

Section 1: bitcrusher: bit:10, smpl:40, balance:45, tone:7, level:100

Section 2: chorus: depth:45, rate:18, locut:180hz, level:90, predelay: off

Section 3: acoustic: bass:4, mid:4, Treble:5, midfq:400hz, gain:45, level:90, bright: off, cab:ha4x10, mix:57
