Zoom B3 Patch mod

I am actually about 3/4 finished with a B3 mod setup right now. This one has Tap, Rhythm, Patch Down, and Patch Up. The inside wiring and jack mounting is done and now I have to drill and label the half-tube so that I can put the new footswitches in. I'll get to that tomorrow.

Are you enclosing the bottom of your 1/2 tub, or adding velcro and a pedal board?

I dont think i would use the rhythm button, but the tap, and patch up and down would be ideal! Also when you patch up does it turn on all effects? if so maybe adding a spot to turn off the effects would be nice before paging up or down.

Also, I'm on my second break out box. First one was way too big, and I used the flimsy switches from Radio Shack. It worked perfectly fine, but after 2 gigs I could tell it wasn't going to hold up. Bought more robust switches and a much smaller box from Bitches Love My Switches, and it is perfect. Compact and roadworthy. It's the small box to the upper left of the B3.

Here is my solution; I added a 1/8" jack to the left of the #1 stompswitch. Used an 1/8" cable to get to the Altoids tin with 2 switches. Right is up and left is down. Didn't need/want tap tempo. DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT use those Radio Shack switches; drop the $7-10 each for some soft switch Carlings and wire it up. Works awesome. Each song has a patch or patches. Being OCD I left a "blank" compressor-compressor-compressor patch left at unity between my "real" patches so if I hit the switch by accident it isn't a total blow-out. :)

Can someone who has done this clarify if the patch select, tap tempo & start/stop buttons should be normally on or normally off?

Also, any suggestions for a box that would fit 3 buttons nice? I have a FS01 and can do the splitter thing for the tap tempo but if I can find a nice sized box, ala the Jamman 3 button box, I'd prefer to have only one box.
