I apologize in advance for the long post, but I feel the need to explain all of this.
For a couple of years I have been using a Zoom B3n as the core of my amp-less set up. I was quite happy with the B3n, but hearing all the experiences comparing the B3n to things like the Helix and GT1000, I decided to 'upgrade" my multi-effects unit.
I looked at the Line 6 HX Stomp and the Boss GT1000core, and decided to get a GT1000core.
First of all, let me say that the unit does have some great sounds in it, but the user interface on the GT1000core and using the computer software is VERY cumbersome. I tried using the GT1000core for a little over a year and it just seamed like a battle the entire time.
I decided that the GT1000core was just not for me. I started using my B3n once again. When Zoom announced the B6 I became very interested, but on the B3n, I would quite often have a compressor, amp sim, cabinet and a high pass filter. This can take 5 spots in the signal chain so I wasn't sure about going to the B6.
Then I saw the update that the G11 received with all of the bass amps and effects. Even though it was a little more that I wanted to spend, I decided to get one.
Let me say, I absolutely love this unit. I have had it for about 1 week and I used it in church this morning, and if I had any doubts before, they are gone. For me, the G11 is a keeper and I am not looking back. I had may compliments on my sound this morning and the zoom interface is so easy to use.
