Zoom H2 Question

Just bought a zoom h2 and I'm really happy with the sound quality. My question is on the side of the unit it says "LINE IN" and "EXT MIC IN". So is it possible to direct input a guitar amp into the unit and record through there instead of solely using the internal mics? And if so, what kind of cable would I need. Would a 1/8 to 1/4 cable suffice? Any help would be great thanks a lot!

It's a great unit, but it does have it's limitations:

"NOTE
• To use the built-in mics, disconnect any equipment from the [EXT MIC IN]
jack or [LINE IN] jack. If anything is connected to these jacks, the built-in
mics are deactivated.
• If equipment is connected both to the [EXT MIC IN] jack and [LINE IN]
jack, the [LINE IN] jack has priority."

I just bought a Zoom H2 and I attached it to my Tascam BT1 Bass Trainer. I have the MP3 songs loaded on the Tascam and put the setting (on the Tascam) on the "cut" mode. I can then overdub my bass line. That seems to work pretty good, unless there is a song where the bass line is fairly prominent, and then it will bleed through. As long as you play the bass lines pretty much as it is recorded, you won't need to worry with the bleeding of the original track.

I've got to say I am very impressed with the Zoom H2. Very good results for the money.
