Zoom MS-60B+ (a compact B2-Four?)

Wouldn't it be great if Zoom updated the B2 Four's firmware to include that capability. My suspicion is that it's all done in software, and so wouldn't be hard to do. Still, I can't see Zoom doing it, sadly.

I still have a B6. It's fantastic. However, the form factor makes eyes roll at open mic nights and other quick performances.
So I find I'm often just using a discrete battery powered drop-and-go B1 Four.
I may get a MS-60b+ and set it up with just a couple of all-inclusive patches to cover quick sets. If it had one more footswitch to quickly change patches on the fly it'd be ideal.
If the B2 Four was battery-powered it would be the ideal choice for my purposes.
Unfortunately, no one Zoom offering comprehensively covers my needs.

Gotta say, the lack of PC support for the B2 Four and the MS-60B+ is a big turnoff for both. I'm trying to extract myself from the Apple ecosystem.
The MS-60B+ has computer support via the Handy Guitar Lab software. For iOS though :(

I guess it helps to read ALL of the comment :)

the compressors seems pretty good in this beast.

i love a good LA3A plugin on my bass tracks in Studio One.

just got the Overloud LA pack - amazing recreation.

the 1176 and Optical in the MS-60B+ get me close enough.

funny, everytime i get PEDAL-GAS, i find a way to replicate it in the 60B+.
Don't say that. I've got GAS for this thing already. Lol!

Yes. And I said "the lack of PC support for the B2 Four and the MS-60B+ is a big turnoff for both. I'm trying to extract myself from the Apple ecosystem".

While it can be argued that the Apple Mac is a "PC" in that it's a "personal computer", in the words of Lifewire "in everyday use, the term PC typically refers to a computer running the Windows operating system, not the operating system made by Apple".

Indeed.

I was not aware of the lack of Wndowbox support as the last few (older) Zoom things I have used the Win Guitar Lab. That is frustrating that the newest don't. Hopefully, they will (probably not :()

Yeah, I have a B1 Four which works on Windows PC, but which is also supported by Tonelib Zoom, which is an even better tool for instantly downloading and trialling patches.

Guitar Lab on Windows works with the Zoom B6, but not the B2 Four or the MS-60B+. So Zoom are going backwards in terms of Windows PC support :(

The Tonelib software has been brilliant on the B1-4, which has been my go to multifx either as a standalone pedal, or sitting at the heart of my little gigging pedal board since they first came out in 5 years back:

I'm looking forward to initially recreating the preamp and drive patches (which sound even better layered with the Octava drive/fuzz pedal) which I have on my B1-4 and, in particular, seeing if they are a little less noisy on the MS-60B+ Or whether if I'll still need to make use of the excellent Zoom noise gate ('ZNR'), as standard, on all my patches.

I appreciate that it's going to be a lot more work setting up patches on the MS-60B+ without the Tonelib PC software (I don't have any Apple kit), but hopefully it will get easier / quicker as I get the hang of it.

I got to that point with my B1on and xon. I was using Tonelib but after a while after learning the architecture I was able to program it from the face of the pedal pretty quickly, even live if I needed to.

Now I think I could do it on any of them as the editing and screens seem to have remained the same throughout.

Incoming! Thomann finally has them up for sale.

@Theprezenz I'll be playing around with both the octaver and synths, but I only have my B6 for reference. I too am curious what they sound like, even though it's something my B6 will probably take care of most of the time. But I'm also going to try and copy some my B6 patches to the 60B+ for light traveling. So comparing the 2 is something I'll do anyway.
My expectations are that they will be quite similar. If they are, the synths should track fine and the octaver should be fine down to G/G#. Below that it gets a bit wooly but still workable IMO. YMMV of course.

Do you have all your settings on those two pedals at noon, or does the B2 Four not show the settings (ie on the dials) when viewing the Patch?!

i have presets for each of the AMP SIMS in the MS-60B+

11 presets with just comps

and

11 presets with other tone shaping blocks

i'll post my settings.

i'm finding i prefer the MS-60B+ amps sims to the ToneX ONE offerings - and i've SCOURED tone.net.

if i use the ToneX ONE live for bass at all, it would be as a IR Loader for my favorite IRs.

current IR faves:

Shiftline (free), York Ampeg, Spicer Aguilar 112 (highly recommended!)

the Bergantino IR set hasn't aged well for me.
