Always loved my B1X, especially the pitch shifter on it, which tracks like an absolute dream!

Hey guys,
my band is about to record some tracks and I am wondering in using my B2.1u with either the 00 patch or 10 patch, both ampeg but the 10 is the SVT 8x10. The Zoom used as a DI straight into the table.
Does any of you have any experience in doing that and would like to share? Which prest do you recommend or like better?

Hi Nick I record direct with my Zoom b2 or B2.1u all the time with good results. Those Ampeg patches are pretty good starting places but you really should dig into the possibilities and create your own sounds.
One thing to keep in mind the xlr out on the Zoom B2.1u is a +4db line level balanced out and will overdrive most mixer inputs if they are at mic level only, if that is an issue then using the 1/4" output may be a better solution.
Hi bassbrad, thanks for the info. I guess I should share my point so maybe we can all benefit.
I play through an Ashdown Mag300 and I like its tone and sound, so normally I set the effects as "bypass", no Zoom´s eq, noise reduction, comp, etc... I set one by one and mix when necessary. I also have totally bypass, blank patches, same as above but no effects either.
Now, I have been thinking in using it as a DI for both recording and live, so what I am not sure is:
Should I use one of the preset as I quoted in my previous post?
Or
Should I just work on a totally blank patch or pick one of the amp modellings, maybe just twicking the EQ and having everything else on off?

Starting with a blank patch would be best but certainly no harm in starting with a preset and tweaking to your satisfaction. I'd say try to create a sound closest to your Ashdown to use for live and recording purposes.
While I have my preferred sounds already programmed I try to be open to suggestion from other players* and we will sometimes scroll thru the presets, pick one close and tweak to satisfaction and often save for future reference or use.
*I have to be open to suggestion because I certainly make them from time to time, curse of a tone snob.
Well, I'm loving my Zoom B3 so far, and it has quickly replaced my Zoom 506II and Zoom B2.1u as my main, go-to pedal. Only thing is, you can't quickly change patches during a song which I find myself needing to do frequently for different parts of a song.

That guy figured out a way to make the tiny, finger only patch select up/down buttons be larger footswitches on his Zoom G3. I'm gonna give it a go on my B3... I imagine it would be the same mod. Fixes the patch select issue during performance!

I love the XY pedal on my B9.1ut for that reason. I can use both to dial out or in various parameters of the effects, amps, cabs, etc.
