ZUNE FAIL!!!

MS gets hammered for everything. Just the nature of being the super power. Remember all the problems with Apple releases? Unable to register new iPhones, and the horrible problems with MobileMe, disconnected phone calls. All things have problems. MS is just made to be a bunch of clowns when it happens to them.

meh i got a zune for Christmas, thought it was cool until the software pissed me off (seriously zune software SUCKS) and the thing would not get recognized by it, i thought getting a zune would mean i could just drag and drop or sync to something like winamp but it couldn't. Got it back to the store and got an ipod which seems to be working fine, really i just need something that can play my music and hold the amount of songs i need.

I miss creative though that was pretty much the only thing that could compete with the ipod until they stopped developing the zen as much.

The Zen series were great units! The Samsung devices that are coming out now are very nice. And now that their are so many sources to get music besides iTunes (Amazon is the best IMO for hi-res DRM-free files) you can get a Samsung and be very happy and nevery have to deal with iTunes/Zune at all.

But man I love my iPhone! :D

If and when the Google Android devices get to the point that they have a very compelling device with lots of software, I'll be ditching the iPhone for one of those, just so I can get rid of iTunes.

Agreed 100%. The Apple folks used to slam MS all the time for proprietary software/hardware and the way MS forced you to fit inside their business mold. Now that Apple is even worse about this than MS, they still love Apple and bash MS. Tunnel vision. But like I keep saying, I love my iPhone, dislike Macs, love Vista, hate Zune... So I put up with crap from both sides just to get the products I want to use.

The Zen blew. The software and OS was alright, but the actual build quality sucked. I had 2 literally fall apart in a year. Each time they wanted around $400 to fix it, more than I paid for them new. There's a reason Creative dropped out of the MP3 player race...

Yep, I'm a Mac user but I'll admit that we've got problems too but nothing this epic. Anyone remember the Crackbook? My Macbook shell is cracking and I'll be getting it replaced under warranty.

And I'll be replacing my iPhone too, I've got dust under the glass. Yes we have problems but nothing as serious as a synchronized international failure.

My quib over the iPhone is the home button. Mine is stiff and sticky, and I have to really press it to make it work. I've only had it for a few months, and have had to take it in to get cleaned twice to fix the issue, which is that it's design attracts grease and grime down around it.

I was this close to throwing my Zune (I have an iPod as well... they both give me freaking headaches at times) up in the air to smash on the driveway. But... I made myself calm down and went to the Zune site and they already had a "fix"... all is working well after letting the thing run down and then recharging.

Still... another Zune pain in the keester problem. :rollno:
