The worst part is microsoft was already on the losing end of the mp3 player wars. This may just be the final nail in the coffin if not just an enormous setback. I can see them losing some market share with a mess up like this.

This isn't a pissing match. A massively widespread failure of your company's supposed answer to the iPod... that's just embarrassing! Sure iPods do screw up... but they don't all do it in a single synchronized move!
Well, it works this morning.
I still don't like the ipod however. To me (and it could just be me) the zune levels the volume of your playlist a lot better, and there is not nearly as much digital distortion with the zune.

From what I've read, it's only happening to the 30g Zunes. All the others are ok so I wouldn't call it a widespread Zune failure. I don't care either way, but this Microsoft vs. Mac is just as lame as Chevy vs. Ford.
Eventually I am going to have to make the switch from MS to something else. With OS like Vista... well lets just say I refuse to be 'bent over'. So I guess it'll either be Mac or Linux.
