Double Bass Zyex question

Good day,

Is this a mixed set of strings on my Shen 88? I bought it with these strings and was told they are zyex, which I have learned come with these different silks depending on their gauge. Do I have medium E and D and light A and G?

The strings sound great to my inexperienced ear. Definitely much easier to get a nice sound out of than the bass I take lessons with at the local university. Arco sound is a different story but I think it’s mostly my beginner technique.

I’m asking in case I decide to try a different set of strings some day, I’d like to know which ones I’ve been experiencing.

Looks like I have some mix of zyex and helicores. Thanks for the info endlesssolo

Yeah, I think that's right helicore pizzicato and sex. Its an interesting alternated combo. But I'm guessing that the previous owner, or music shop, did not know the difference. Unless you really like that interleaved mix, I would go one way or the other.
