Clock Knob Reading
  • Welcome to
    Clock Knob Reading

When amp knobs are not numbered use CLOCK KNOB READING to describe the settings.

    Clock Knob Reading.

    For Example:

    Rumble 500 head knobs.
This Fender Rumble 500 head is shown with all knobs pointing straight up, or "all at 12", or "all flat".
This is actually a good way to start auditioning the Rumble, except that the 500, or even the 200, may be much louder than you expect!

    Rumble 500 head knobs_real.
This Fender Rumble 500 head has a more varied EQ, or setting.
    The GAIN is at 11.
The DRIVE is at 9 and the LEVEL is at 10.
The BASS is at 11, which is a Cut from the flat setting at 12.
The LOW MID is at 2, which is a boost from the flat setting at 12.
The HIGH MID is at 10, which is a Cut from the flat setting at 12.
The TREBLE is at 9, which is a cut from the flat flat setting at 12.
The MASTER, or volume, is at 10, which is not "dimed" in this case, but is actually a fairly conservative setting for Full-sounding, but moderate, volume.
