Details

As part of my continuing effort to reduce my bass inventory, I'm now offering up this fine example of a Fender 5 string Jazz Bass. It's truly a workhorse of a bass that can deliver in any style or genre.

According to the Fender Serial Number look-up, this bass was made in 2015 (corrected). It's in excellent condition with only very minor signs of having been played at all. I take very good care of my instruments!

Here are the Specs:
  • Body: Ash (corrected)
  • Finish: Gloss Urethane, Natural
  • Neck: Maple, modern "C" shape, Tinted Gloss Polyurethane finish
  • Fingerboard: Maple, 9.5" to 14" Compound Radius
  • Frets: 21, medium jumbo
  • Scale length: 34"
  • Nut width: 1.875"
  • Hardware: Chrome
  • Tuning keys: Fender lightweight vintage-style tuners
  • Bridge: High-mass (upgraded from original vintage-style)
  • Dunlop Strap Lock Buttons
  • Pick Guard: 3-ply Tortoise (3rd Party)
  • Pickups: 2 Noiseless pickups
  • Pickup switching: Pan pot/blend control
  • Controls: Master volume, pan pot, treble boost/cut, midrange boost/cut, bass boost/cut
  • Stealth "B" string retainer
  • Posiflex graphite neck-support rods
  • 5-bolt neck plate
  • Contoured heel for easier access to upper frets
  • Rolled fingerboard edges
  • Highly detailed nut and fret work
  • Genuine bone nut
  • Flat head screws on battery compartment (for easy changes with a coin or a pick)
  • Block inlays
  • Neck binding
This one weighs in at a comfortable 9 pounds, 7.2 ounces on my digital scale

Interesting, when I checked, it said 2016. I will change the original post to reflect the correct build date of April 2015. Thanks for pointing that out!

I wonder why they would buy this bass that cost extra for the electronics and then have it taken out?. Sounds like the original owner should of went with American but just buy a passive bass. Strange ....

It's amazing what some people do. When I bought this bass it had a different preamp and pickups. I changed them back to what they originally were. For me that made the most sense. Not everyone agrees with that approach. Many players prefer a totally passive approach. "Different strokes for different folks" I guess.

Bottom line here is that this is a great playing and sounding bass. If I was going to continue with playing out live I would absolutely keep it.

The rules don't really translate very well when you are buying/selling a 10 or 20 thousand dollar bass. If you would of sold the bass you would regret that at some point, I see that all the time where people will tell you the same thing. All over talk bass too. TB needs to have a support group and counselors to deal with such issues. Good luck!

The bass I have only a 4 string version and amber color. I had some work done on it by a luthier and he agrees that it is a magic bass. The preamp and noiseless pickups provide all the tones that you need but whatever, I wouldn't trade out the electronics after paying$ 2500 + tax out the door. This an expensive habit for all.

Looked at the pics again, that thing is a work of art. If the new owner takes care of it it can last a life time. yours is show room quality.

LOL if you have like 10 basses and never play this bass then it is reasonable to sell. I will never sell any of mine unless my fingers fall off because I record and don't need gigs per say.

I have 3 jazz basses. Each are a bit different. I rotate each day and play another one. Lots of good reasons to have more that one bass. Different setup, to honing in on you setup preference while leaving the other alone to play noneffective.
