Fretless
  1. Y
Asking $1900 obo, shipped, PayPal
Trade for a fretted 5 or 4, or an amp.
Can do cash either way.

This thing is ridiculous. Sounds fantastic, and is in very good shape. The neck is nearly flawless, and the body is very clean, with the only big blemish being a second strap button home on the back of the upper horn.

Specs:
1994 built, per my email with Status.
34" scale, lined fretless, side dots on the line.
18V electronics: vol, blend, bass, treble
18mm bridge spacing
1.875" nut
No truss rod, no worries

Weight is right at 9 pounds per my bathroom scale (205.6 with no bass, 214.4 with bass, but I'm rounding up just in case).

Takes either regular or double ball strings.
Currently strung E to C with Status Hotwires.

Blemishes:
a couple small finish cracks at the neck pocket (normal for graphite neck instruments with a wood body),
that extra hole for a strap button,
tiny ding on the top of the neck,
minimal string wear,
superficial swirling on the body.
See photos. It sounds way worse than it is.

Comes with:
another set of double ball B-G Hotwires,
an unknown type of double ball strings (B-G),
adjustment wrench for attaching regular strings,
a backup hex screw for anchoring strings.
gig bag.

Trade for a fretted 5 or 4. Medium scale preferred, but not gonna be picky.

Yeah, so those fretless are all well and good, but only up to 4 strings for me!

Does this bass have a finish crack from the neck heel to the Neck pickup? Might just be a shadow in the picture?

Yes, updated photos.

It doesn't go to the pickup cavity, but it's there. Gotta love that graphite that doesn't flex with the woods!

So Dennis, you do need another Status, you really do. But tell me when did they move San Mateo to SLO or visa versa?

Kirk:
I should check this posting more often!

ha ha

"they" you mean the owner- I don't know if he moved from SM to SLO.
I did not ask him either in our emails.

How did you know I was looking at this bass?
He does live somewhat close by- 2 hour drive.
and has Hi C on it.

I decided to pass on it. altho it was tempting !

Surprised you didn't buy it.
