A Jew, a Hindu, and a politician are staying at a hotel in a park. As each is alone, they naturally begin talking and decide that rather than hang around by themselves they'll all go hiking together. While hiking they get thoroughly lost, but eventually, hours after dark, they stagger out of the woods and find themselves near a small farmhouse with a light on. Running to the farmhouse they knock on the door and explain their predicament, asking the farmer if they can sleep there tonight and in the morning pay him to drive them back to their hotel. The Jew and the politician lay down on their narrow bunks and try to sleep, but a couple minutes later there's a knock on the door. The Jew gets up and opens the door and there stands the Hindu. "I am so sorry, my friends, but I cannot sleep in the barn. There is a cow in the barn. According to my religion cows are holy and I cannot sleep in the same building as a cow.". The Jew shrugs and says " My friend, take my bed. I have no religious objection to sleeping in the same room as a cow." The Hindu thanks him profusely and settles down to sleep, but after a couple minutes there is a knock at the door. The politician gets up and opens the door. There stands the Jew who says "I am sorry my friends but I cannot sleep in the barn. There is a cow in the barn but also a pig. In my religion, pigs are unclean and I cannot stay in the same building as a pig." The politician says "Fine, take my bed. I will sleep in the barn." The Jew lays down and they try to sleep, but after a couple minutes there is a knock on the door. The Hindu climbs out of bed and opens the door, and there stands a cow and a pig.

I bought a used G&L LB-100 in 2020 that was made in 2014. The trussrod nut broke off after one adjustment just like yours. I contacted them and they made me a new neck for free, even though I wasn't the original owner. I'd say that was them acknowledging (without saying explicitly) they knew the truss rods were subpar. Still, they treated me great and new neck is fantastic, quatersawn flamed maple just like the original. RIP G&L

The Subway line is where the NeoX and Uber might have evolved if Genz Benz was acquired by Mesa rather than Fender. Then again, Genzler also has their interpretation of the future with the Bass Array and MG cabs

BTW, the Chinese pro on WeChat, Pink.bass slaps the crap out of her Roscoe and Lakland 5 strings as good as anyone.

I’ve had a couple, but the last bike I REALLY liked was my first generation Yamaha FZ1. It was the perfect machine for me after I a few alterations. I could do credible track days, riding to the track or tour…anywhere. Cross country. Plus it was built with ease of maintence in mind, which is super important.

So, the first to catch my eye without (so far) reservation is the Yamaha TC-9. Anyone have experience with that model?

Currently my own creational Fender Jazz parts bass. All parts neck, Fender 96 MIJ body, Bart B-Axis pickups and Babicz bridge. Love the tone and comfortability of it.

I read somewhere it was a 1978 and supposedly a rare cherry burst finish. I’ve seen sienna burst and cherry burst used used interchangeably but they are different with the cherry being more bright.

Here is a pic of a 1978/79 in a cherry burst finish.

I was today years old when I learned "shout" is a musical style. Very cool.

Years ago, I had a cat who liked to sit on my 1x15 cab with wheels while I rolled it around. When I'd come home from a gig at 2:00 or 3:00 AM, he'd greet me at the door and I'd give him a ride around the livingroom.

I'm the proud owner of #91 (4-string offset) and #99 (5-string offset). I've had the pleasure of interacting with Ellis quite a bit and most recently ordered a set of his new pick-ups and preamp to replace the Nordstrand Polyvox that I spec'ed originally - and honestly didn't bond with.

Ellis is so easy to deal with - takes time to answer questions - and when one of the pick-up shells was being a little ornery, Ellis immediately suggested a video call and we resolved the issue quickly.

There's no question that Ellis builds killer basses - and for me, that level of customer service is a real difference maker. There just aren't many builders I've run into that are that easy to deal with and care that much about their customers.

My 2008 Build uses a Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H that was chosen back when Firewire Interfaces were common, because it has the specific Texas Instruments chipset that would allow for optimal I/O transfer rate with those units. I never did get a Firewire Interface.

So...aside from what @Crater mentioned above regarding UEFI BIOS/Secure Boot & TPM 2.0 to ensure that Windows 11 can be installed, what else is everyone taking into consideration when choosing Motherboards for DAW builds these days?

The main reason is that occasionally I run DaVinci Resolve for video editing and those gaming motherboard features and video card work well together. The system has a 1 TB USB drive connected for backup and project storage, while active projects process on the primary drive. I still haven't upgraded the RAM to 64GB yet, but the system seems to work fine so far. To be honest, the band has been pretty busy the last few months so most of my home studio time is practice or learning new songs.
