Ampeg V4B into SWR 8x8

Just to be clear, you had 2 700 into 2 Henry cabs or do you mean 2 700's into one cab. How did you do that?
I used either 1 x Henry w/ 1 x GK 700rbii or 2 x Henry w/ 2 x GK 700rbii.

Used 1 when the guitarists used a half stack each with 120 to 150 watt tube heads and used two when they each used their 612’s.

What the absolute least amount of pedals you could get by with?

I could probably get by with an overdrive and a DI. But, the absolute least that I could use AND still be really happy with the tone....2 drive stages and a preamp. Others that make an appearance are compression, octave, fuzz and chorus.
Right now, a small board is too small and a big board is too big. So, I have space to work with. Sometimes I fill it, sometimes I have a lot of empty space.

Eminence Delta 10a-2

Using the program fdeck provided, these drivers look good in a small enclosure like the rumble 500 combo. Pretty flat down to around 50hz, tuning was about 58hz, total internal volume 2.6cuft. These are rough numbers from memory. A pair will handle a solid 270 watts. I’m not a fan of how the menus have changed on the eminence site. It’s harder to find what you’re looking for. The previous version was excellent.

Another Rotosound 77 break-in inconsistency thread

Good news: a bit of lotion settles down the strings nice and even. Is that one of JimmyM's words of wisdom?
This is one of the reasons why I like the Fender 9050L (45-60-80-100) better than the Chromes ECB81 (45-65-80-100).
This is a good tension, I wonder why more companies don't make it. From my calculation, a balanced tension set (assuming uniform density) should be 40-52-70-95 or 45-60-80-105. Strings with different core-to-wire ratios would have different densities, so maybe a high-density 50D or a low-density 55D will work well with a medium-density 40G.

Still hunting for gray Ampeg cloth!

I didn’t see any mention of the Fliptops store, so I’ll just put it out there.

Fliptops Home of Parts for Ampeg Lovers

Edit: I do see now the 1st post made reference, from JimmyM.
Yeah, Fliptops is an incredible resource but unfortunately they don’t have anything like what I’m looking for.

They don’t even have the current production blue sparkle at the moment. My game plan was to get a couple sample squares of that (so as not to mess up my existing grills) and try some methods to dye it, probably with coffee and tea. If anyone here has a roll and could cut me a few squares I would be grateful!

The project has kind of been on hold because of these dead ends. Best I can tell, somebody at one point definitely made a more gray version of the cloth with the classic weave pattern - somewhere between the 90s and 2010s - but it is almost certainly out of production now.

Double Bass String choice for low bow pressure

Update: I tried Spirocore Solo 4/4 E (F#) & A (B), Evah Pirazzi Slap E & A. Also Flexocor Deluxe Solo E (F#) & A (B). With the Spiros and Flexocor, I can't find a soundpost placement that allows E & A to speak quick enough without D & G sounding too harsh. On the EP-S it worked. On a side note, they tend to bottom out fairly quick when busking acoustic pizzicato.
Anyway, i am back to plain gut A/D/G. I'm in love with Dragonetti's 12 waltzes ever since i took up the bow. They work wonderful with plain gut strings. I just can't get used to the difference in attack (slow, no "chaff") and timbre between non-gut A and gut D+G. Somehow, Steel E doesn't bother me (at least when playing Dragonetti, you don't use it anyway :D)

Sunn 2000s with 2x15 can

Thanks so much for info I’m wondering if the D 131 were added afterward, but I’m being told this is a 15 inch speaker
A 12” fitted into the space for a 15” would not only be strange, but you’d need some sort of spacing ring to accomplish that. The seller may be working with erroneous information. If/when you open up the cab, a couple of these is what you should see…

…(although they should theoretically be two 8ohms in series. This 16 ohm driver was from when a pair would be wired for an 8 ohm cab).
As I mentioned earlier, you can pry off the grill cloth frame in front(be careful and methodical) to get a preview of what’s actually inside the box.
