The All-Time Most Awesome Rigs of All Time

Been wanting to do this for a while: create a thread to showcase the very most innovative, inventive bass amp rigs. A pantheon of creativity.

Not the most awesome rigs you can buy. I've seen some beauts as far as those go. But a couple of people here have made things that are new.

Here are my entries.

1. Sundogue: Built a Transformer out of amp parts.

i don't know if it's the most "awesome of all time" but i think that my scratch-built 100% tube super beatle head and beatle 2x15JBL cab kinda fits in this category, and it does sound great :

That is sooo AWESOME!

I used a double Super Beatle rig (2 cabs ea. 4x12) '68 - '71 playing ballrooms and outdoor gigs... I would have KILLED for one of these! (single cab in my avatar)
(2 cabs of course)

Gets my vote for MOST AWESOME!

yep, i made it and it's 180 watts.

I always disliked the VOX cooling vents. I thought that my AC50 ran too hot with its pair of EL34s and GZ34. The AC100 was renowned for overheating with four EL34s. Does the fan you have solve the problem??

BTW your construction looks like you've done this kind of work before!

Funny thing....JohnK's handmade tube VOX rig was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the title of this thread. Then, I take a look and here it is.

I have to say. I'm not sure what would qualify as the "most awesome rig of all time," but if it exists, there is a good chance that JohnK either has it or built it.

Color me jealous.

That vox rig is amazing!!!! Thought it was a vox foundation at first. Just seen a vox foundation this past weekend at GC.

This is real, innit? I remember about 20 years ago Ampeg built a working 32 x 10 box. I wonder if this is it?

Not to take away from any of the other rigs on this thread, but I remember when Sundogue unveiled his creation. I nearly soiled myself in awe of its sheer genius.

My vote goes to the early 70's SVT head with 2 Ampeg 810 cabs. -Not the easiest rig to move alone though IMO.

I also think my Crest CA9/Demeter HBP-1 preamp into my two Mesa Powerhouse 212 cabs is pretty darn awesome too.

I TRIED LIKE HELL to come up with the scratch in time to buy that when you had it listed!
