Verellen Big Spider Distortion: Audio Samples

Very nice!

I'm typing this on a phone, so getting the specific link would be a pain, but if you go to the clips page on the Verellen site, there's another clip that doesn't mention the Big Spider (it just says Meatsmoke_ampeg_yadda yadda) in the link, but still features it, with what sounds like a lower setting on the Overdrive knob. Less compressed, more mids, and more definition. It rules.

I agree. I think that clip is just showing off the amp. No pedal involved.

I thought so too, but listen again. First, remember that the Meat Smoke is a one channel amp, and the clip features instant switching between one specific clean setting and one specific dirty setting, where the player doesn't stop to change settings.

Edit: But on second thought, that distortion does sound more like the Meat Smoke than a Germanium Fuzz. I'm not sure how they managed the switching, though.

Maybe I'll shoot Verellen an email asking about that.
