A NEW T-40?

So I like Peavey's new stuff,
they have some nice basses and some nice amps. I've came across the T 40, but never played one, they look nice and sound nice, but does Peavey make NEW ones? Also, can someone explain the knobs and switches?

The last "new" Peavey T-40 came off the production line long before you were born.

You can read about the knobs and switches by downloading a copy of the original owner's manual here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/peavey-t-40-club-part-2-a-657422/index10.html

You can read all about T-40's here. Just trace your way back through all 1200+ posts in the "Peavey T-40 Club" threads: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/peavey-t-40-club-part-2-a-657422/index10.html

The fact is that when it comes to basses youre going to get far better deals in the used market. Id really consider trying to let your dad know what a crap shoot buying new can be (not that used is always a ghood route, just make sure to buy from a well known person who has feedback). Heck, let him read this thread if it helps.

From what I can recall, T-40's listed around $375 new back in the olde days. You can still pick up near mint examples for a good deal less than that.

I'd be surprised if anyone paid list price back then (or now). There have been lots of T-40 threads w/prices on here in the last year. Happy hunting!
