New Empress Para EQ

One thing missing from most para pedal eq's is settings. Looks like the Empress can, at least select between narrow, medium and wide.
Are there better pics on the Empress site? I haven't been there in a while and didn't realize that they had anything new in the works...

Not necessarily better pics, but a couple more from different angles. They do have a filter in the works as I mentioned And in trading emails, Steve Bragg said they were seriously considering a reverb at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Nice. We so often get threads asking for something like this, and the wise ones have to stammer "well, there's this one discontinued option, and there's this other discontinued option, and there's this one that doesn't have a bypass footswitch and there's another that has no bandwidth control..." At last, even though the bandwidth selections are limited, we have something good to suggest.

What are the little switches on the top?...you can see them in the pics on the website, but I'm not sure I saw an explanation of their function...

I'm really itching to try one of these out...but for the money, I'm wondering if you'd be better off going with a Rane PE-15 (5-band)...I think the Rane's go for about $280 new..and the Empress Paraeq is about $250...
yea the Rane is rack mount...but supposed to be a great parametric EQ...

Well, there are lots of great rackmount para EQ's at a wide range of prices. The chief thing that makes the Empress worth noting is that it's a pedal.

very true...I guess my point was from the financial aspect...but do understand...having the pedal form factor definately makes it useful in more situtions (ie, not having to lug a rack if you don't need to, or have a rackspace available)...

Ok.... so I google VCF.... and I imagine that there isn't a pedal for bass that does what the results were.....
Whats VCF mean in the pedal world......
