Hello bass brothers (and sisters)
I 've ordered A fodera imperial that I should have in may 2009.
So during the time I wait for this babe, I'm gonna share everyday (I will try at least) my thoughts about that!

tell me what you think if this idea, I hope it will help others tbers waiting for their to fodera to stand the wait.

you guys can also express your feelings about the wait ... everything that comes to your mind about your bass is welcome

no i've ordered it from austin bass traders with Glenn Kawamoto

he told me that he had this bass on order for a long time and that it was scheduled for may 2009

he also told me that it should be longer considering the time for the wood to dry and other stuff etc...

but he also told me that most of the time he menage to get the bass on time.

Considering everything i read about Glenn, I trust him.

He also told me that sometimes the bass needs more time to make because the buyer decides to changes some specs hence the another wait time to make spec to satisfy the customer

I hope to have it in may but it doesn't bother me to have the bass in june or july because it will be my birthday present for my 30th birthday.

I used to have a fodera emperor 2 5 string, but was a little disapointed , I bought it used and it wasn't to my spec. Now I told Glenn what I want, the kind of sound the action and everything. it will be MY bass.

but of course it's hard to think that there's still 9 months to go (maybe more) to get my bass!

it's an imperial same as richard bona's
I love ash basses (I've got a marcus miller 4 and 5 and a jazz bass 75 reissue mia) so I'm used to these kind of bass.

I'm not a wanna be , I just like the way this bass looks and I talked about what kind of sound I want, and he told me that was the best bass for what I need. (I also asked about mtd 535 and imperial garrison and about a fodera emperor )

I want to have the ramp on it
and I ordered it with very low action but still be able to have marcus miller/stanley clarke snap when I pluck hard the string, and a good slap tone.

I keep the mike pope 3 band preamp in it because when I used to have my previous fodera, i loved the preamp (unlike mr. Bona)

so it's olive top on ash body with bird'eye mapple on the fretboard.

I would plan on a year. My Monarch 4-string that was due by the end of July (and has been on order for 2 years through Bass Central) is nowhere near ready. Whatever the due date is, add 3-6 months. BTW, I am not bitter at all. Bottom line is that Joey and Vinny do what it takes to build as close to perfect basses as possible and time really does not enter into their thinking. When it's ready, it's ready and not before.

Amen to that. The extra time is well worth the wait.

You will love that bass by the way. I went to NAMM with Fodera back in 2007 and there was a Bona model that was just amazing!!! Hadrien Ferud fell in love with that bass and could not put it down.

Enjoy!!!!!!!
Peace,
Chris

thanks for the little story about Hadrien Feraud.
I hope I will feel the same about my future bass!!!

thank you and yes je suis français lol

comment l'as tu deviné?
J'ai vu le même pseudo que sur AF sur un avis concernant une Emperor II! Funny!
I've seen nice Foderas on Glenn website, I'd like to order one, but before I have to pay the french taxes! (you may have heard about that in France!)
I'm looking for an emperor 5... so I will assiduously follow how you manage to survive until delivery day of your next bass!
