OMG, looks like someone took an air hammer to this puppy. Probably required at least a wood chisel. Hows that for an expert relic job.

Yeah I would never have thought of it either, but one popped up on a resto thread somewhere, and it looked so cool I just had to do one! I love the blue/white against the amber neck - it just seems to please the eye...and with a Fralin stock handwound it thumps! I had a 2 saddle bridge on her but found the intonation hard to get right so I modified a 4 saddle with a small round needle file so it would backload, and now it's great. I am doing a 54 P in the color scheme of the 1968 Le Mans winning car, the Gulf Oil sponsored Ford GT40, which is pretty much sonic blue with an orange GT stripe...I have a great gal in Anaheim who does pinup waterslide decals which I use on a lot of client's guitars, and she is doing up the car's numbers and sponsor decals for me - can't wait to finish it - it's alder body, maple neck and an SD Antiquity in that...
Whoops we've drifted off the thread, but I hope that dude on ebay doesn't cop it any more from us bassheads who always know better!

Q: How many bassists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Depends on how many drummers they're training at the time...

Geddy Lee 5 string headstock looks REALLY familiar...

yup. it is a bad relic job. i relic things that are damaged in shipment. someone bought that bass for $399 and got a great playing and sounding bass. most relic jobs look like the bass was in a prison music program for 30 years then drug behind a train. if you really play, a bass tends to to relic itself. so how buys relic basses anyway?

that headstock... Nice Try. if you look closely, it's angled, no string trees, American made. so if an angled headstock looksx familiar. You guys have anything better to do?

You know what though, your Ebay listing doesn't mention that the bass was damaged in shipment. And maybe the buyer was happy with it, but it's still bizarre (and IMO shameful) to call this "an expert relic job":

And it's even more bizarre that you would then come on here and mock other people's relic work, and even mock people who buy relic'ed basses.

There are only a few words for you, and none of them are suitable for a family forum.
