I got to hear Pete's new line of Skjold speaker cabinets this weekend at the Dallas Guitar Show. WOW!!!

He was playing through a single 15 amp with a mid & tweeter. He was using a 7 string bass (which I might add is the most stunning 7 I have ever seen/heard), and chording in the upper registries. I was amazed at the sound that cabinet was producing. The highs were crisp, and very pronounced. And it was a 15.

The low B through that baby was simply amazing. Nothing floppy sounding. All the notes were out there, and noticeable. No trying to distinguish between the B & C , or C & Db. I can't wait for the Skjold 212. If it sounds half as good as the 15, I will be selling my EA cabinet.

:hyper: :hyper:

I too am totally impressed by Pete's new cabs. I had the chance to play through them at his shop last week and did a little review of them on skjoldplayers.com.

As soon as the 12" cabs are ready, my EAs are going back on the block as well!

Pete's got all kinds of cool stuff he's about to release that going to keep him out-of-control busy!

I can't find much on these yet, but I see they're 3-ways!

Looks like he's got it right. Should be killer cabinets, one to watch for.

Yep. I think he said the mid rolls off at 800, and the highs roll off at 3K. I only saw 1 attenuator on the back of the cabinet so I'm not sure exactly how that works. Maybe controls the mid & high??????

The 15 was Pete's favorite too. I liked the 10 as much or better personally, but the 15 is a bit warmer, with almost the same punch, so its really a toss up hehe. And neither cab suffers from missing frequency response, being 3-ways.

I am really looking forward to hearing the whole package. Skjold pre-amp, power amp (being developed now I think), and cab's, with one of his custom basses. I think the tonal possibilities will be almost limitless, and won't be able to get a bad tone on any of it. Then once all that is done, I want him to build a combo I can afford lol.

Just thought Id repost the pic from the skjold boards :)

Hey.... you could get a Skjold 115 with that red baffle covering, an LDS 210 with the blue baffle covering, and an old white EA iAmp and do a pretty good American flag for those 4th of July gigs (or Southern rock gigs at any time of the year):D

Somebody please smack him. It's clearly been too long since someone has... ;)

Oh, and while he's layin' on the floor, dibs on his Celinder. :D
