Skjold speaker cabinets ROCK!!

The 15 was Pete's favorite too. I liked the 10 as much or better personally, but the 15 is a bit warmer, with almost the same punch, so its really a toss up hehe. And neither cab suffers from missing frequency response, being 3-ways.

I agree with Pete, I liked the 15 a lot. The 10 wasn't bad, but compared to the Berg HT210s I use, it seemed a little sterile. Of course I tried about 8 2x10's when I bought mine so I was pretty sure I was getting what I thought to be the best.

Well we found out the speakers that got put into the 2x10 were the wrong ones. They apparently werent rated as advertized when purchased, so replacements are on the way. The 10's in the cabs cut off at like 80Hz or something crazy, which is why they had no low end booty and a bit of distortion when pushed. The new speakers should sound much better.

is Pete phyisically making his own cabs or is it an OEM-relationship with another company?

They look killer, can't wait to check them out... are they going to be at NAMM?

He doesnt make them himself, but Im not sure of his relationship with the builder, or if they do other things you may have heard of or not. As for NAMM, I have no idea. I don't think Pete has attended a NAMM as of yet as a booth, but who knows :)

Subscribed. Why has there been no news about these things?

You gotta be in the know ;)

Anyone have any details on the 15? What kind of power handling are we talking about? I wouldn't mind a 15 that was loud and clean and low...and my 1212 could fit on top, like a 2x10 would. Any cab I've tried with the Schroeder couldn't keep up. It would be cool if this could.

Currently, the PRELIMINARY specs are as follows...

The power ratings are conservitive , meaning we adjust it down 100 watts . The 115 will be 600w 210 will be 500w 212 will be 1000w and I am now going back to the 310 which should be 700w.

Like I said we are being conservitive in the rating. We don't even count the other drivers , just the woofers. With a three way design you can handle much more power. It is suggested to us that the cab be run with double the power as it is rated. So if you have a 500w cab you should be running 1000w of power . I have been pushing these cabs and they really sound great and are very capable in handling the power.

Also, that 115 in particular is supposed to be completely deadly. :)

Just thought Id repost the pic from the skjold boards :)

These cabs look very much like the sneak preview pics I've seen of a new line of cabs from a well-known company, at least well-known here on Talkbass.

Tom B., I believe you know of this as well. It's only a matter of time before this builder makes this new line available.

The resemblance is beyond uncanny. It may very well be the exact same line of cabinets, and this same company is going to build them for Skjold.

Or not. But that picture..

Yea!!! Post #250 for MichaelVee!! :hyper:
