Fantastic - 1000 posts up :D Never thought this thread would take off like it has :hyper: I'll post a list of members this evening so everyone gets a namecheck on the new thread

I'll have to check out some of this Epi stuff - sounds rather good. Must admit, I'm starting to GAS for the Agi + Markbass head I tried recently. Does GAS ever go away!!

SuperSeagulls - Cool Flam 4 and welcome on board - PM me for a membership number if you wish.

MistahBenn - there is a scanned image of the Schack circuit on page 6 of the original thread :bassist:

Mike Have a fantastic holiday!!!

Lots more news coming. Mine won't be long till it's back from the finishers.

Mornin'!

Blimey - we've done it now lads - gone and busted the server... and there are a load of Sei's in production - let the flood gates open when Martin is back from holiday!!!! I'm off to Crete for a week at the end of the month (Sept) - and hopefully I'll also have some other fantastic news...:hyper:

M

Mike, enjoy Crete. I love it there, been twice now. The first time there were tears in my eyes when I was coming home; I didn't want to leave!

Hey thanks guys - looking forward too a damn holiday - I haven't had one this year NYC in April wasn't exactly relaxing) - erm, dunno if any of you have seen this but there are a couple of great shots of the offset Flamboyant that was 'born' recently:

Who's the proud owner of this beast? I can't remember...

Oh yeah, and here's to the next 1000 posts...!

They're the coolest looking pickups I've ever seen.

Martin has excelled himself with the ramp between the pickups it is simply brilliant.

I can't wait for a full review from notrt on the beast. Paddy as you say, the facing is awsome.

Regards

Matthew

btw do I get a prize for the 1000th post? how about I get to try every new Sei for a month before it goes to the new owner :hiding:

Cheers Paddy! Thats probably the only page I didnt look on! hehe.
So do any of you seiers have any recording done? Ive not heard any other apart from an old video of John Thompson playing his original headless 5, which was years ago. Think thats when I fell in love with them....

:)

+1

While not a Sei owner, I am certainly a fan and that bass is one that I've been very eager to see.

I have seen, and played, this bass - and it's a gaddamnded freak!!!! It will utterly blow you away - but I have to admit it's totally not my bag - but Martin has done it again - his craftsmanship is just jaw dropping!

My bass should be going to the finishers sooon - oh, lordy only a few more months.

I've held the 8 string behemoth as well. What a beast, totally amazing and jaw dropping but my poor little hands just couldn't cope.

MisterBenn - np on the schack diagram, one of those things that I'm bound to lose hence the posting :D

Matthew - not content with being both number 1 and 1000th poster you want some kind of prize! As Sir Terry Wogan would say "Me, me, me, me, me" :spit:

That ramp is pretty amazing on Notrt's fanned fret, for some reason I didn't notice that when I saw it in the flesh!!

-------
Feedback please - Seeing as we spawned a new thread having broken the last one through overuse :hyper: Do people want their sigs to still point at the old thread or changed to the new one? If the consensus is we change then I'll post a guide on how to do it. Your thoughts...

Paddy

The problem with the old thread being closed is that it will drop into the TB black hole and will not raise it's head again.

Is there anyway of putting a link in a post near the top of this one linking back so that new people can read it if interested.

So to answer your question, I am happy to have my link stay as is but will go with the majority.

Regards
Matthew

Cool! When and where was that?

It was in the Gallery, a long time ago. I think it had just been built. That's assuming of course that yours isn't just identical to someone else's, but I doubt that! It was on the website too, although I don't think it is any more. Lovely, lovely bass. Great balance, lovely weight, great tone and playability. Still, I guess I'm preaching to the converted!:)

Great to see that this thread has gone over the magic 1000 !!

Just got a new toy from the USA the other day, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet !!

It's Peterson Stroboflip tuner. OK, doesn't sound very exciting, but it's accurate to 1/1000th of a semitone and features include some tuning "sweeteners" as Peterson put it.

These sweeteners, which include a bass guitar setting, very slightly offset the tuning of the string to make the equal temperament of the instrument more 'in-tune' with itself.

I'm especially looking forward to trying this with my Sei 7 to see if it makes a difference to the sound of the bass. More info can be found here Link Removed

I'll let you all know what I think.
