So this isn't my favorite of my dirtboxes, but I figure some of you out there might appreciate some soundclips so here you go. I like this box best with lower gain settings; it has plenty of gain to spare, so I'm going to focus on lower gain settings, though as you will see, it gets plenty gainy.

Chunky plucking, minimum gain:

Chunky picking, also minimum gain:

Gain around 9 o'clock:

And a kind of fuzzy even higher gain setting. This is still probably at less than noon, to give you an idea. The double stops are burly, the single notes are gnarly.

First it was the 535Q and now this?!?! How am I ever going to save any cash when you keep making me want to blow it all on pedals? :) Seriously, the clips sound great. Thanks for taking the time to post them. Cheers.

The bypass is supposedly true bypass, but I did stomp the EQ shift switch at a gig rather hard (ok so we were a little rowdy) which caused my sound to drop out. When I got done laughing about it switching the pedal off didn't bring my sound back. I thought I had destroyed the pedal with my badly aimed stomping, but now it works just fine. Must have had some other electrical problems on stage, who knows. One way I test the bypasses on my pedals is to unplug the power from them and see if the clean signal still goes through. With the Hematoma it does, so I can at least tell you it's not buffered or anything.

Running buffered pedals in front of them can sometimes change the way dirtboxes and especially fuzzes sound, and I'm running a 105Q and a TU-2 in front of the Hematoma. I haven't checked if that changes the tone at all, but it could have something to do with it.
