I couldn't find any pre-existing clubs for CB owners so I thought it was time to start one up. Cliff is a great guy and well deserving of a club in his honor, especially for putting up with all my questions a few years back when I ordered my "Ball" bass.
Out of respect, I'm reserving #1 for Cliff Bordwell himself.
I'll take #2 and #3 is Justin Beck.

gorgeous bass.

ive been reading reviews of cb basses and surfing cliff's website all day.

i think he ahs one of my favorite singlecut body shapes and will definitely be high on the list when i decide to make a custo order sometime early in 2008 probabaly.

nice looking bass, but something looks weird to me at the neck heel where the maple comes back into the picture there is a gap which looks like the body wood. It doesnt look right. I never seen a CB bass like that before. Im sure it wasnt intentional.

here is a pic of what im trying to describe. I am not dissing cause I think CB basses are the best looking out there. Just looks weird

very cool, Cliff, just never seen one with the same color as the body wood by any luthier..

Keep up the excellent work.. One day I will own a Parallel Chamber SC from you the one on the site makes my so gitty im like a little girl everytime I see it... Its just a matter of finances :(

Love them basses.

OK, you have the
  • top piece made up of 5 pieces of wood
  • a medium brown piece
  • a black piece
  • a dark brown piece
  • a black piece.... and then
  • the neck
I don't see no stinkin' gap!







I think it is just an artifact of the picture and the way the transition is done from the back of the body to the neck.

I didin't think you were, it's a good observation actually because I don't recall seeing another CB this way either. I think it may have something to do with wooden bridge I had Cliff use. He mentioned something like needing to do it this way to get the height and neck angle right.

p.s. I really like the relic work you do. :D

I've been checking CB Basses out. Excellent quality and the price is right. I really like the performance style bass but it looks like he dosen't do that series anymore.

I'd love a performance series bolt fanned fret 34-37 w/ 2 Nordy hot fat sc's (following the fan) w/ stainless steel mando frets.

Count me in.

My BallBass is the most versatile and easiest playing bass, I´ve ever laid my hands on. I´m currently trying to collect some money to get another one, most probably a fiver - not sure if fretted or fretless. If money just wouldn´t be a matter ;-)

I'm a big fan of CB and his art. I posted a pic of my fanned fret 5er (quilted camphor over walnut, morado board, passive custom Norstrands w/covers) previously under the show your CB thread; it's listed under "the news" tab on Cliff's site from Jan 07. I've got pics on the hard drive of a 'puter that's ready for burial so it'll be a bit before I get around to posting more. It's great to see CB get the recognition he deserves.
