Interesting that you kept the packaging on the strap whilst using it. What's it made from? Did it change the tone at all?

I put the packaging back on because I'm sending it back.
Excellent catch.. glad your reflexes are right up there. Look, IMO ya gotta go full, all-LEATHER construction. They are thicker and will probably never tear. All three of my bass/guitar straps are 100% leather with Dunlop strap locks. Its the safe way to go..
Levy's straps have never failed me. The ends on the straps are really heavy duty,I don' think you'd even need strap locks with them,they're hard enough as is trying to get on and off.
Had Dunlop's on there. I've only had one other strap let go and it was a Levy. Caught my Les Paul that time. Link Removed
My two main straps are Levy's straps. I think theyre 3 1/2 inches each or so. They last awhile, but my main strap for the past two years definitely need strap locks.
