By the way, I plan on updating my 6 with lighter tuning keys (to improve neck balance) and a fret dress. Then I'll start playing it again!

this was one of my favorite basses i ever had. i had picked it up in a large deal where i bought a dozen basses at a great price with the intention of selling them to help get the downpayment for my house together (which went just as planned and now i'm in my house).
this was one of the tougher ones to let go. the bass was fully passive. i believe the knobs were volume and blend and the bass had a bunch of different voices. the blend knob was really great in that you could get usable sounds without being all or nothing and adding in a little neck pickup gave a little of that sound. playability wise...top notch. there are several patents on linc basses and they are obvious when you play the bass. neck is a v, bass is hollow (VERY light) with a unique cavity, woods are breathtaking and the tone is there. all-in-all a bass i'll miss. someday i'd love to own a linc again, they are pretty rare to find though. and when they do pop up they rarely get what they should because they are pretty unknown. that bass was killer though.

Awesome as I wipe the drool away , that is one of the most beautiful basses ever . I hear ya , even this thread sat for days with no reply

Didn't know the exact year, but I knew that it was displayed at the 1995 NAMM show. The guy who sold it to me listed it as a 1995 NAMM bass. My other two Lincs were custom, that's why I wasn't as emotionally attached to the fretless.
