so glad to see the club grow guys! keep it up

Just in case someone misses it from the last thread...

I noticed a lot of hiss when I turn the "Treble" eq on. Nothing horrible, but decently noticeable. Anyone else have this going on?

pretty common with basses. Just don't turn the treble up.

I would rate my sunburst ATK305 a little better than average for an active bass- I find it quite useable with the treble dimed. Mind you, my Bose L1 rig is about as close to flat as it gets, and my Eden head is a little on the dark side.

How much you hear depends on what you're running it through. Cabs with scooped mids and/or hot tweeters will exaggerate it. So will amps set (or pre-shaped) for a bright sound.

Another factor in "gain staging". Inside the bass (there's a gain pot on the preamp board), and in the amp. If you run the bass low and crank your amp to compensate, it will make hiss more prominent.

I have to say that the NT is my favourite, simply because none of the other colour combinations work as well with the maple board, at least from my perspective.

My fave too...imagine that in Burgundy Mist, though...I wish Ibanez would get a bit more creative with their colors.
They must have an awful lot of brown paint

what software are you using to balance the sound?
&
for everybody else,
Is there a free software that can do this? Audacity? Something else?
I am running Windows and Linux.

Got a Tri 305 coming in later this week....hopefully.

I let go of my SR5 mid last year......

I've read that the ATK's don't really do the Stingray tone?
