Justin,
what software are you using to balance the sound?
&
for everybody else,
Is there a free software that can do this? Audacity? Something else?
I am running Windows and Linux.

Yeah I am just using Reaper. its what I use to record my stuff anyway. right now my signal goes into my Zoom B9.1ut and it goes usb out into the comp, and there is very low latency. Im running windows as well. Its something I already used so it was easy for me to just see my db signals and correct them ya know.

Thanks man.

Well my ATK is getting picked up by UPS today. When I received it last week the case was heavily damaged, and a part of the headstock was damaged (in transit I believe), so UPS is picking it up to do a damage inspection. I hope I get it back, I hadn't even had a chance to jam with it. :( This is a sad day...

oh man that does suck...Ive only had one bad deal with UPS, it was with a Fender bassman 300 pro tube amp.....they freaking DE-STROYED it. it was bad. luckily the tb'er I dealt with had the ups store pack it, and it was insured and such. the tb'er was super cool in taking the charge about handling everything. end of story UPS got my amp....did whatever with it, and I got full compensation. I wish the best of luck to you man!

Thanks... I bought it on ebay because it was exactly what I wanted, an older ATK 300 TriFade, I couldn't believe it. Luckily the guy I bought it from owns a Musicians Exchange and fully insured the package. Now I guess its just up to UPS to figure out what to do. The bass was fine, minus one small ding, but I can live with that. I think it would be too hard to find another bass with the exact specs I wanted.

why didnt you just file for only the "case" as damaged, and kept the bass with the ding? now youre going to have to wait who knows how long. because assuredly the bass is fine, but they might keep it and give you money, which in this case would really suck. hope you hear good news soon, thats a great bass :D

Good luck with your "Case" with UPS, Dallas852. Hope they don't wait long to get it back to you. If you ever change your mind about that ding on your ATK, I'll give you my address and take that thing off your hands so you can sleep better at night! ;)

Just traded my Ibanez RG420 Electric guitar for this... What do you guys think?

I used to own a BTB400QM that burnt down in a fire. This bass reminds me of my old BTB.

Just finished setting up the Black Sparkle ATK305 I picked up for my church.

There was a bit of fret sprout, but on the other hand, I didn't have to tweak any loose tuners, as I did on my 3TS. After cleaning up the frets, rolling the freeboard edges slightly and buffing out the neck, it's a very comfortable player. I understand that the necks on the 4-banger are a bit clunky, but I find the profile on the 5-strings very comfortable.

This one was inspected in 2007. It's a few ounces lighter than mine, but now that I've cloned the setup, they sound remarkably similar. These basses are very consistent, if these two are anything to go by.

They are some of the most consistent basses I ever tried. In fact, I once sat down in the music store with a 4 and a 5 - same settings, same amp, etc. Never heard a 4 and 5 sound so similar within the 4 string range.

I've had my ATK for a couple months now and it's taken front seat to my Squier jag. It sounds so good and plays great. I especially enjoy slap/pop type stuff on it. The only problem is that I always forget what each position of the character switch does..can someone remind me? :D

Anyway, I loves me red sparkle!

The character knob switches the feel the pickup puts out. Middle is bright (good for disco and songs with bass thats prominent but not too overpowering) , left is Traditional (for classic bass tone) and right is Attack (for heavy slap pop, rock tone or Musicman like sounds)

Here's my red sparkle ATK 300
(sorry for the bad quality of the shot)

Can I get a number?
