I have an ASB 140 in the reddish sunburst; found a case Ibanez ASB100C Hardshell Bass Guitar Case - ASB Series at Sweetwater for $159.99 - back-ordered; more on the way. My sales rep is Arron T; takes care of me ! Best price for genuine Ibanez form-fitting case for the ASB 140
Really love the bass, for Rockabilly and Classic/Honky-Tonk Country. Plays real well, hangs nicely. I like one pickup/1 tone, keeps me busy and I get the tones I want. Had one several years ago and sold it at a pretty good profit - stupid move; DON'T SELL ANYTHING ! I just ordered Fender 9150M Tapewound String set, .058 -- .110, (10% off) I use them on my Paranormal Jazz, Daisy Rock Rock Candy and Michael Kelly jumbo hollow body; basses

OK, since I am an engineer by profession, I can't leave things alone. All this space at the end of the AGB100C HC has been bugging me. Great idea about stashing your strap there. But I didn't want it banging into the headstock. Took a look at the shape of the case and see that there is a taper that runs the length of the neck. Decide that I can design a little barrier to keep larger items at the far end away from the headstock.

So I decided to grab my CAD and work something out.

The flat bottom sits right on the bottom of the case cavity.
The sides are angled in to match the taper of the case, and sized to wedge in just on the far side of the headstock.
The curve is to give headstock clearance and to distribute any forces out to the sides.
Decided not to make a basin or cup occupying all the space. the little things can go in the proper storage area under the neck. This space is just to keep big stuff (strap, doo rag, etc) from sliding down the neck.
Took it to my 3D printer, tried to match the interior color, and printed away.

This version is juuussst a little too tall. Will print another a few mm shorter.
I like it when engineers come up with ideas that improve things - no so much administrative bosses who just want to make a name for themselves in the eyes of upper management woo, usually, don't know the nuts & bolts of things.

I wish you had posted this first without making the purchase. The NEW ASB100 Case will not fit the ASB140. They only make it for the ASB180 which is SS.

The sales people at Sweetwater do not know this. Unless of course they have new old stock, which I doubt. You'll be sending it back.
This has also been posted and explained at length on several of my posts in this club.

Also, the case for the AGB and AFB do not fit the ASB series. All three series use a different body fitting case.

Thanks B-Mac; I'll hope for the best but I think you're right, they are back-ordered so must be the "new". I only have a heavily-padded Roadrunner bag and am not comfortable with it out of the house and want to use the ASB140 at church and a rockabilly jam.

Hey B-Mac; I think, hope I was in error, the paperwork for my bass says AGB 140, so I hope the ASB100 case fits it. No where on the bass says the model; Just know its single-pickup, wine sunburst, white neck and body binding 1 tone, 1 vol and very long neck. Pics forthcoming. I'm pretty confused with the ASB, AFB, ARB, AXB etc etc - I'm used to Fenders Jazz or P. Thanks for your Artcore advice - I need/appreciate it. Ordered Fender tapewound flats.

Welcome!:hyper:

Nice looking AGB200! Looks to be a 2024/2023 model year?

You have been issued member #35 in the Ibanez Artcore Bass Club :bassist:
Thank you so much for the warm welcome @B-Mac! Glad to be part of this club. And yeah it's the newer version in satin black. Didn't check the serial number inside.. but really love it. I only have two basses but really happy with those!
Thank you again!

No dice. I am right as I own all of these except the AGB180. The ASB, AGB and AFB cases are NOT interchangeable for the respective basses. I'm trying to save you a return hassle. When I give an answer it isn't B.S. It's the real deal.

The model name of the bass is clearly shown on the label visible through the F hole on the bass side of the instrument.

ASB series is double cut thin body in 34” and 30.3”

AGB series is single cut thin body in 34” and 30.3”

AFB is single cut thick body only in 30.3”

My mistake; I had an ASB180, later (dumbly) traded it off. I looked at my old paperwork got confused, and ordered a case for it rather than my new(er) ASD140 (which does have a longer scale I believe which I like) Soooo, still on the hunt for a case the AGB 140 would fit, don't care about the shape, I don't travel anymore. just need a case so I can use this beauty at church rather than my Jazz. I did put on LaBella Deep Talkin' Bass, 760T strings as suggested last year, like 'em.
B-Mac, I hope people appreciate your knowledge !
