    Budget Active/Passive?

I really can't believe this hasn't been said yet, but rondomusic.com has some basses that are push/pull. My Brice HXB-405 fretless is that way and it only cost me $280 and I am VERY satisfied with it.

FSOT Two J.R. Beck 6 strings fretted & fretless

How would you describe the sounds available from these basses? How do they compare to other basses made in Korea in this price range? Brice or Agile etc. Is there a possibility that you could post any soundbites/videos? I would love to hear those things!

Squier "Perfect Fit Replacement Parts" Mega thread

So I've got a Squire Affinity P, and I'm currently looking to buy replacement black tuners. Will the Mighty Mite's fit with no adjustments? And where can I get a perfect fitting black pickguard?

Can you name all the bass brands you've played or owned?

SQUIRE Fender MTD OLP Music Man ESP Schecter Specter BRICE G&L Yamaha Washburn Rickenbacker Peavey Warwick Hofner Gibson Ibanez B.C. Rich I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones that have left an impression on me, either good or bad.

    Building the uber-J

This looks like its going to be one sweet Jazz bass. I'm really digging your choice to use local woods, and that top is beautiful! can't wait to see (and hear?) the finished product!

SOLD Bromberg B2 fiver - defretted and transformed

HAHA! Now that's funny. Funny story, so I used a sparkly purple Yamaha RBX270J to flirt with a recent girlfriend of mine. The bass was hers, she loved it but hardly ever played it (it is hers) so I would borrow it often and once played it at a school Jazz Band concert. I asked her out day and...

    The Fretless Club (Part 2!)

10 years I've been playin on a fretted trying to imitate the smoothness and tone i can achieve on an upright, and now I finally have a fretless. And a 5er at that. I never would have thought. Its a Brice HXB 405 Fretless with the spalted maple finish. I love the tone and the feel of the flats...

    The Official Brice Club

I just got my HXB-405 Fretless today! :hyper: I love this thing. The TI jazz flats aren't half bad and remind me of the feel and sound of some old worn upright strings I've played. A little "thud-ier" than I was expecting, but they sure feel smooth. I'm thinking about changing the string out...

    Show Your Carl Thompsons!

I know I'm coming into this thread a little late, and no I don't own (or like the body style of) a CT. But HOLY CRAP this fingerboard is amazing! While his designs don't cater to my personal taste i can definitely respect and appreciate his work.

    First build - 5 String Bolt-on

That finish looks pretty awesome. I can't wait to see it with a burst. I especially love cherry-bursts.

I'm new and need advice and suggestions

Choosing the bass that is right for you is a very personal thing. But if I may add my thoughts I would recommend the RBX 370. I often play on a friend's RBX 270J and really enjoy it. The 370 is the active version of the 270 (hence the bigger number, right?) and I can assure that these are great...

    New TB member(Tons of pics)

Man this bass looks amazing! I can't wait to see it's brother! I really dig that bridge on the the first finish. Was that a permanent bridge, or just a placeholder of sorts? That body design is a little out there.... but I dig it!
