Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

I remove the stand and carry it separately, which is honestly less than ideal, as I've forgotten it for at least one gig. All hail a wife who will drive back across the bay to get a cymbal stand so her husband doesn't look like a doof auditioning for a new band. Anyway. I'm planning to...

    Double Bass Ergo case???

It doesn't hold the stand, but this is what I use and I'm happy with it: Invalid Link Removed I've had to train myself not to leave the stand at home when heading out for gigs. Once was enough... The case is for a Stagg EUB so the fit isn't perfect. I added a little acoustic foam I had...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

This works great for my 4-string (with a little padding), and I would think it would work for a 5-string... you might need to cut out part of the neck-rest bit: Invalid Link Removed note: I put a small weight at the foot of the case because the Stagg bass is longer than the Ergo, and the...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

You'll need at least a DI (direct inject) box (to match impedence) and you will probably want some more control over EQ. I use a Tech 21 ParaDriver DI (and love it)... it's a DI box with gain (volume), active EQ and a mixable tube-amp simulator circuit. I use it in front of my bass amp and as...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

Well finally! Many, many shout-outs to BTate for pointing me at the Stagg GEC-EDB hard case. It works! Link Removed With the addition of a couple of unemployed and strategically placed pieces of Auralex acoustic foam (I went crazy and made my studio absolutely dead at one point, not...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

It looks like you've got the same kind of tension peg in there. Mine bent, compressed, whatever, and the hole in the post itself got wider - which may be what's going on with yours. A heavier tension peg helped, but hasn't solved it completely. So far the solution I've seen that looks the best...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

Many thanks to BTate for contacting me about the Stagg hard case! I ordered one today from Sam Ash. $74.95 with free shipping. I'd looked there before but they were out of stock. My local Stagg dealer gave me a runaround, promised to call back about it, never did. While waiting on hold today...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

My EUB4 is all one piece lengthwise with glued-on "wings" on either side of the headstock. I've read that only early Ergos came with volume knobs.

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

My EUB4 is about 55" from head to toe, about 3.5" wide and - with the stand attachment - 5.5" deep. Someday I'm-a-gonna find me a good answer to this here hard case question. :) Peace Aahz

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

I have a Neet longbow case with an arrow bag attached to the side. It holds my Ergo 4-string nicely enough, and the stand fits nicely in the arrow bag. Buuut... it's very much a "best I could find so far" kind of solution. The zipper is already fraying, the bag is simply not enough protection...
