That is most definitely an Elite 2. I had a 1986 version of that bass in pearl white until a couple of months ago.

I don't think so, but I'm not positive. I negotiated to keep the HSC from my old bass when I got mine.

All Jag basses are MIJ. I bought one Saturday, they had it listed at $890..he let me get it for a $600 in trade, and let me keep my old HSC. Elderly Instrument has the White/Tort listed for $939. "Fender Deluxe Series Jaguar Bass". That's exactly like the one I bought...What's the diff btwn...

I look at it as a "collector" that I'm not afraid to "bastardize" with a brass nut, and a BadAss bridge. If I can contain the grounding issue, I will leave the electronics original.

I doubt that, he's got a ton of other Fender's. I'll be taking my Jag to Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI this week to get the "buzz" fixed. I'll get the story from them. Thanks for the MIM info, though...have you got a link?

The owner of my local shop in Grand Rapids, MI. He had a red one tagged for $699, and a white one tagged for $890. He gave me my pick for $599. I took the white one, becuase I preferred the natural headstock.

I was led to believe that they are going away forever. That's why I jumped on getting one, yesterday. I gave $599, yet the tag had $869. The $499 you guys are talking about is a super deal. I had my last bass for 20 years...After 24 hours with the new Jag, I like it enough to take to the grave.

I picked up a White Jag, today. I like this better than a vintage Jazz I sold in the late 80's. As far as the weight..this Jag is replacing an 86 Aria SB Elite II as my main. The Jag is feather lite, compared to the Aria.
