fender jaguar bass guitar

I just could not dig that red. Girls are suppose to have better taste so i asked a girl red , black or white because i dont do bursts if i can get around it and she said white.

if the black had a matching headstock i would have freaked out like a school girl.

thats funny, my gf loves the colors on mine. But then again she likes wacky colors like me. haha

thats true haha

maybe i should get another:)

i have heard nothing yet but i ordered online and never had an account so i have no tracing number of ots not hear friday i'll being worryingg and call them

I ordered an Olympic White one Saturday and I'm glad I did! I just thought it was a steal of a deal, I didn't realize they were discontinued....

I prefer the natural headstock over painted almost always, but the lake placid blue with matching headstock j basses from the 60s look amazing.

Eh, I wonder where they got their info. The one guy's logic is that since they dropped the price to $599, they must be MIM...but until early Saturday morning, they were still listed as $949...and the $599 isn't so far off of some GC in-store prices that have been reported for MIJ Jags.

Just have to wait a few more days to find out for sure...I haven't bought a brand new electric bass since 2000, so I'm pretty excited.

All Jag basses are MIJ. I bought one Saturday, they had it listed at $890..he let me get it for a $600 in trade, and let me keep my old HSC. Elderly Instrument has the White/Tort listed for $939. "Fender Deluxe Series Jaguar Bass". That's exactly like the one I bought...What's the diff btwn "Deluxe" and "Non-Deluxe". I bought the white because it looks "classic" and I prefer the natural headstock.

AFAIK, the Jag is only part of the Deluxe Series...that's all I could find in the official 2009 Fender catalog and their price list. I got the white one for pretty much the same reasons you did...red just didn't appeal to me, I've never liked sunburst basses, and I'm really bored of black.

Cool...Just wondered, because he had a red one tagged at $659..white one right next to it tagged at $890. He let me have my pick when the trade value was established, almost like his wholesale price was the same for both. As far as I knew, the only diff was the color scheme. Although, and I'm certain that it was "psychological", the white one felt better, and seemed to have a better tone. Psychological, I'm sure....LOL.

now i am gonna have a really hard decision decided which color to keep... see, i bought the hot rod red for myself, because i like bright flashy colors that are unique, and i also love matching headstocks, since they are not very common. and my father bought an olympic white one just to sell, and i have always wanted a white bass. the sunburst was awesome IMHO but i already have an american p with a tort pickguard i put on it. he has left the decision up to me to pick which one i want to keep, since i bought my own. i dont really ever plan on selling the one i keep, because i tend to keep the stuff i use like that. so, what are the suggestions guys???

I think it sounds like the red would be best for you.

so your dad bought it to turn a profit and score a free amp? smart man.Thats what i was going to do seel the jag for like 600$ , and keep the amp , but i decided to trade my jag.

The "discontinuation" can be a result of several things:

- Either the Jaguar Bass isn't selling as expected
- The unit will be temporarily discontinued and reintroduced with upgrades

or

- They're just taking it off the market just to drive up demand for when it inevitably comes back.

I remember Fender did the latter with the previously discontinued Jagstang when that Nirvana collection came out.

My guess is Japan model will be discontinued and then moved to Mexico. From what I've seen, they sell like hotcakes. I'd bet it's Fender's most successful new model in decades.
