Well yeah. If you amplify a bad sound, you just get a louder bad sound. The most important 6 inches of signal path is between your ears.

In every room? Might be something in the room that resonates with that particular note. Also check the bridge. String might be too small for the channel, which can widen over time and string changes.

I agree, they’re very close. I feel like the hybrids have more tension, but that could just be the fresh restring and they aren’t settled yet. They are definitely louder on my bass, and are roaring under the bow vs. the Basso set.
