Could be a screw in your battery compartment isn't drilled in all the way and is sticking up a bit. I had this issue on an SR605e I had--only the stock chinese battery was small enough to fit. Just look to see if a screw isn't screwed in all the way and screw it down. The battery compartments...

Ibanez will often do Ash bodies in combination with Rosewood fretboards. Even though I returned it due to horrific QC issues, the Ibanez SR605e I had was ash body and rosewood fretboard. Actually a lot of the more recent Ibanez SR600 series have been ash bodies with rosewood fretboards.
