I have a Dingwall NG-2 5 string too The B string is tight, however, The 37 inch B string is too far to reach for me Get tired easily in a gig. So I have to sell it. I find that for me, a 34 inch scale 5 string with 20-21 frets is most suitable to play. These days I play 4 string bass exclusively.

Thanks mate, this gives me confidence to replace the bridge. The A style bridge looks like a direct replacement of the standard bridge. Though I prefer the look of the standard bridge. Do the two bridges weight similarly? I am thinking of getting an aluminum A style bridge.
