I just noticed that they added the first mensinger guitar, arcadia, to the configurator. Oh boy that's not good, I'd really like a nice guitar as well.... Although I may actually get a model they have in stock at some point, seems like that would be way cheaper and I don't have an exact idea in my head what I want.
Also, @J_Bass 's fretless looks amazing, I'm getting used to 4-string basses again and the only fretless I have is a 5er. The GAS is too strong, these threads are getting dangerous :roflmao:

I prefer 19mm bridge with 1.75" nut on my fretted five strings. For fretless I can go significantly narrower and it doesn't bother me since I usually don't slap on a fretless. I don't play 6 string anymore but I used to have a Linc Luthier 6 with 19mm string spacing and it was like a surfboard...if I ever play one again I would go to a narrower neck. The 18.5mm spacing also worked well for me on a 5 string I used to have...it didn't feel too narrow but allowed the neck to be just a tad narrower and still comfortable.

I've owned a Hellwood 5A for over a year now, it's the 17mm version and it's comfortable to me as my main bass is a Warwick with 16.5mm spacing (my preference vs 19mm). I purchased an amazing boutique bass last year and I'm selling it due to the 19mm spacing just doesn't work for me. I'm replacing the stock bridge with a hipshot A with 17mm spacing. I feel the stock bridge sucks because of the lack of intonation setup without having to unwind a string to loosen the tension to then move the saddle within another notch machined into the bridge.

I'm still waiting on the delivery of the bridge and will comment on my opinion of the Hipshot A once I install it.

Overall, I really dig the Hellwood... it's light, plays and sounds great and for the price, you cannot beat it.

Does the new Hip shot bridge fits in the holes of the Standard bridge?

Hi ValeriusCrow, does the Hipshot A style bridge fits the stock bridge screw holes?

The reason I asked here is that the saddle locks on the standard bridge of my Jake (E,A,G strings) are really tight. I try to loose them with allen keys, and I'm afraid I have damaged the screws. I'm thinking of replacing my standard 19mm bridge with a 19mm Hipshot A style bridge. Any advice will be appreciated.
