This showed up today! Initial thoughts - lighter than I expected, extremely comfortable to play with a strap on BOTH strap options, top-notch build, solid B string (this is a 34"), LOVING the Sonar 2 Band pre so far, pickup switch options provide quite a bit of tones, fast neck and very good passive tone. At first my build was all passive BUT so glad I ended up adding a pre. My other bass is all passive so having an active back in the stable is a breath of fresh air! Reggae recording sessions and gigs next few weeks to break this bad boy in! Now for the some pics...

I just bought A-style Hipshot and replaced stock, no drilling or anything was required) Below here's a pic of both bridges side by side

Thanks mate, this gives me confidence to replace the bridge. The A style bridge looks like a direct replacement of the standard bridge.
Though I prefer the look of the standard bridge.
Do the two bridges weight similarly? I am thinking of getting an aluminum A style bridge.

So, Ive decided to first let the new bass acclimate and after a few days it rattled everywhere on the fretboard. Last night I did a setup on the bass and after that it plays like a dream.

You can feel the bass resonate against the body when you play it and it's possible to set the string height really low but still without rattles.

I like it a lot and I'm beginning to get used to the finish on the back of the neck. I like the bass a lot!!!! For everyone here that got one coming in the near future......GET EXCITED!!!

The same thing happened with my Jake, don't be afraid if you have to adjust the trussrod a few times over the next few weeks, after that my Jake had a completely solid neck.

I guess it depends on how it was set up before it is shipped. Since I changed the strings and did my own setup anyway I gave mine just a tiny bit of neck relief and it works great like that. Then after a few days (acclimation period, I think that's what you were describing as well) the neck had more relief, raising the action. So I gave it a slight adjustment. I had to do the same thing again once or twice in the next few weeks, but ever since then it has been absolutely solid.

Yes I had to give mine a bit relief too and today it still plays great. Better than my Sandberg TM 4 actually.

I always wanted one after playing a buddy's Elrick a number of years ago and I bit the bullet reluctantly saying to myself, "I can get used to the spacing".

Some people can get used to different spacing between different basses, others can't.

Aw, man, that's a drag. I've practically G.A.S.-sed myself into a coma on some nights looking at Elricks. I was on the verge of pulling the trigger on an Elrick multiple times during my recent bass search; the Elricks on Reverb.com have my greasy virtual fingerprints all over them. I could've easily been in the same boat; some instruments are impossible to resist.

Here's a question: Do any of you hang your basses on wall hangers, like I do? More importantly, are there any long-term risks in doing so? I used stands for years, then came up with the wall hanging rig in my profile pic (it actually holds five instruments), but I've always wondered if they might have some kind of effect on instrument necks.
