Don't know what you have but my Elwood 4 with Delano J Pickup + Noll 2 Band preamp is fantastic. Everyone prefer it over my Lakland 44-02 SKyline Deluxe (more expensive than the Elwood).
I'm pretty sure you'll love it and they will too.

Wow, from all the Elwood clips I have heard I'm not surprised your band mates prefer it over the Lakland. These basses really are something and your preamp/pup combo sounds killer!
My headless Frog has Delano Sonar 2 band pre w/Bassculture pups (I do not miss mids ). So far I am totally digging this preamp/pup combo and I have feeling it will kill in the mix! I only have one other electric bass (all passive Fodera Monarch bolt-on 5 String) with one Seymour Duncan pup located on the sweet spot with series/single coil/parallel switch. For a passive one pup bass it is insanely versatile but I wanted to add active modern bass on the stable and so glad I went with a Maruszczyk! Will certainly provide a rehearsal report
