I'd stick with a microphone. I don't know if a guitar pickup would work for a stompbox, stick with the microphone.

I went a little bit crazy and ended up purchasing another spector today. I've got myself a 5 string spectorcore bass guitar. It's just that bit different, gives me something different from my other spectors. I'll have to post a picture soon, it's a lovely guitar, and I just could resist it...

I know have three Spector basses, I have a legend in slate grey, a 5 string custom in trans blue and yesterday I picked up a 4 string black cherry custom. I adore these basses.

If you haven't already made your mind up, I'd definately go for the Cort. I've been using corts for a number of years, and they'll never let you down. I have the Cort T34 myself, and it has one of the quickest necks ever. The tonal variety is amazing as well. You'd do very well with one of these

These play really nice, all cort basses tend to. They're similar to the Ibanez ones, but a fretless version, isn't this because Cort make these Ibanez guitars?
