    compression pedal for bass?

+1! I've bought one used this weekend and honestly, I've never thought a compressor would improve my tone that much (Fender Jazz Bass MIA)! If you play finger style, it's just awesome! :hyper:

    The drum software thread

I'm using Superior Drummer 2.0 too. I usually modify the settings on the mixer to get a little bit more overhead. I'm also using different outputs for the kick, snare, toms, hihat, cymbals/overhead. I like boosting and eqing a little more cymbals and overhead. I sometimes use a compressor to...

How loud do you need to record a bass amp?

Hi guys, I've tried the e906 this weekend on my bass cab and the sound was very decent. Maybe not as good as the mics you listed, but still works pretty good if you EQ it. The RNP rules!

How loud do you need to record a bass amp?

I asked the same thing on the TGP forum Invalid Link Removed From what I understand, mics are pretty transparent... it's just a matter of what tone you want to get... I thought that if you recorded louder you'd get better results by not cranking the preamp too much...

How loud do you need to record a bass amp?

Hi everyone, I was wondering how loud do you set your amps when you guys record your bass tracks (not how loud the bass should be in the mix like a previous thread)? Side question: Did anyone use a Sennheiser e906 to record their bass amp? Thanks!

    bass headphones!

Lucky you! If only our band's guitarist/singer was as cool as your guitarist... he left us twice because he had babies even though he promised to call us back a few weeks later  :bawl:

MXR Bass Octave Deluxe - Tracking problems on G string

Actually it was a brand new bass at the store, so maybe it needed some setup but it seemed pretty nice to me. The other thread Ant1977 linked talks about dead zones on Fender basses, very interesting. In any case, I can play the notes on the 3rd string and it works beautifully, so it's not that...

MXR Bass Octave Deluxe - Tracking problems on G string

Hi everyone, I tried an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe yesterday at the guitar shop and I thought it was pretty nice until I went up to the G string. For some reason between the 1st (G#) fret and the 5th fret (C) the tracking was really off and the note would go up and down randomly. All...

VT Bass and Amp Sims on PC

I have tried several amp simulators on PC such as Amplitube, Guitar Rig, etc. Most of them sounded average at best IMO. Amplitube Ampeg wasn't all that bad... My main problem is the soundcard latency. I managed to get it down to 6ms but can you still hear a delay between your plucking and the...
