Dual band is the way to go when it comes to bass compressors.

EBS comp is the best I've played yet. Great comp without squashing your tone. Well worth the money IMO.
yea, $200 :/
I'll have to try one out, they seem to be really popular.

Demeter Compulator

Like U2, I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
My Holy Grail would be a pedal that can do the Tony Levin "bwap" at extreme settings, subtle fattening of the sound at lower settings like the EBS, work as a limiter for slap and run on 9V boss style power supply.
I really love compression from tasteful to full squash. On any given tour, gig or recording session you'll always find any one of these three at my feet or in my rack.
For an "old school" style (60-70's rock/funk/motown) the Aphex "Punch Factory" is fantastic! More modern and clean with quicker response and articulation, go with the EBS "Multi-comp". Clean and pristine (closer to a DBX 160), I use the BBE "Maxcom". They all have their own sonic personalities and I find myself constantly swapping them in and out depending on what I'm going for.

Hey James,
A little off topic but, now that you're using a pick more nowadays, do you find yourself using less compression?
