Road worn basses aren't exactly unique or overtly valuable as some seem to be implying.
If you like the P/J tone and dont want to buy another bass for that sound, go for it.
I know it's not exactly bass related, but I do remember that Japan's last foray in Squier production came in the mid-late 90's with the Jagmaster for the Vista series, which was a guitar made of leftover Jaguar parts.
The 14 hole P-Bass was one of Squiers' part incompatibility issues that was finally fixed in 2004. IMO, just plug and re-drill new holes in the body. The only holes that have problems (in my experience) should be the ones covering the route cavity. For that I glued in a piece of wood around the...
