Now got Daddario Chromes (100-45) on my VM Jazz for about 3 weeks.
It sounds incredibly good!
I only can recommend it to everyone who's searching for a motownish vintage jazz bass tone....

if i'd be in an ad i'd say "it absolutely changed my life!"

Those strings are the stuff! I love 'em on mine!

I had the same problem with the input jack. I fixed it twice then got an Electrosocket from www.stewmac.com, $8.63. No more problems and it only took about 2 minutes to install.

Here's my Affinity P-Bass. I modded it with:

Basslines pickups
D'addario Chromes flatwound strings
Black spray-painted pickguard

These came together over a short time. I'm waiting on a J-neck (Squier) for the black and white one.

The fretless has a Mighty-Mite neck, LaBella Tapewounds and the pickguard was painted back in '92 by a friend when I lived in Miami. It's waited until this year to have a new home (came off a modded-to-death Fender).

Stock p'up on the b/w, a Basslines and an unknown currently on the fretless. More to come, no doubt... but I made the thumbrests out of a scrap of Mahogany. Both nice players and sound pretty dang good just like they are now.

Came together on its own, that one. The pickguard was sitting around, I ran into the body with a rank SX neck and found the Mighty-Mite neck on CL. Ta-da! From the Fred Sanford school of luthiery!

wow hey glad i shlogged back on,made my day!(no really),,i have one,the thing is a `very nice' body wood with a `very nicely done'`burst' i love it and i hate it,,love it for about an hour then the neck`get's to going' after i tune it(too much releif,lief?,yeah it's late),,,great copy of a real one,the body is awesome,the rest will be replaced

i'm going to buy a neck and some Duncan Hines pickups and re-load it,maybe some Betty Crockers!or take it to the GC and toss a credit card at em and say=FIX IT! you sold me this heap!, i don't care i want a neck that's worth a sh--!,,sounds like fixing my wife's car(doesn't it?,love/hate all rolled into one)

,meantime i'm playing slide with a Squier`strat' on my bass amp and getting by(but lusting for my bass,keep parking my thumb on the middle pickup and fingering the upper 3 strings,,,does it end?,tonight IT DOES!(it's late),get some sleep! the world is full of`squires' some arent even labeled`Squire' goodnight Fred!
