Difference between Spector Legend Classic and Ibanez Gio GSR205

The overseas thing may be an issue with returns and stuff, have you tried american sites like Musician's Friend? From what I remember they have a a really nice return policy. Unless you ended up getting a better price from the U.K. site. And kinda off topic,, but how do you like the ATK800? The...

Difference between Spector Legend Classic and Ibanez Gio GSR205

All and all, they're a damn good bass for the price, and if there's a solid return policy, I don't see why you shouldn't go for it. I was considering one awhile back, but I managed to get an amazing deal on a brand new Ibanez ATK 205 that I couldn't pass up =P

Difference between Spector Legend Classic and Ibanez Gio GSR205

It also has a maple body with a quilt maple veneer as opposed to the agathis the Gios are made of. It has EMG pickups and a Tonepump Jr. preamp. It has a three piece neck as opposed to a one piece neck (at least my gio had a one piece neck), these are significantly more stable. It's also a much...

    35" Scale 4 string.

I also recommend the Peavey Grind, I've never played the 4 string, but I absolutely love the neck on the 6-string. Plus, it's afforable enough that you can modify it to your heart's delight without breaking the bank

Has anybody bought an Xaviere Bass, if so "how are they ?"

I've always been curious about them, just looking at their specs they seem like solid, decent instruments for a good price, Plus they seem like they'd be really fun to mod. I particularly like the DLX model, their Jazz bass copy, their Tele copies, their LP copies, and their hollow guitars

    J Bass w/ series/parallel switch stock

... in retrospect, I have no idea since i didn't know there were different FSR jazzes. I bought a MiM FSR Jazz body in natural finish that had a S/P push/pull knob and a Badass III bridge standard, after a quick google search i realize that i really can't find any other FSR that matches those...

How Would I go About Acquiring a Tone similar to this?

Haha, fair enough, maybe i'll give them a shot, what J/J EMG set would you recommend for what i'm trying to do?

How Would I go About Acquiring a Tone similar to this?

Honestly, i don't think i've ever heard of a Tweeter, is it a cab that has significant amounts of high end? And if you want to post an audio clip of what you're talking about that would be super helpful, but i don't want to inconvenience you if it's any trouble. and JimmyM, I actually really do...

How Would I go About Acquiring a Tone similar to this?

Do you pick more towards the neck or towards the bridge? And do you think having the action set really low so the strings kinda clank against the frets will add to this??

How Would I go About Acquiring a Tone similar to this?

Hey everybody, so awhile back I ended up finding a band that has a bass tone that is very close to the tone I've been searching for in my head. Here's the song, I'd choose a specific time frame in the video, but the tone is pretty consistent and you can hear the bass very clearly throughout the...

    Ibanez vs ESP

I haven't played the ESP, but I have played a Few BTBs. They have a really thin, very wide neck. The string spacing is really wide, unlike a lot of 5-string basses out there, so slapping is pretty comfortable. So if you like wide necks, it might work for you

What type of wood do you like your bass made from?

Wenge is a wonderful neck wood, ibanez uses it a lot and it just feels wonderful Particularly in multi-piece necks (personally i'd love a 5 or 7 piece wenge/purple heart neck). Pau Ferro or just any kind of high end rosewood are my favorite fretboard materials. Body wise, Ash is a staple...
