To sell or not to sell... T40

The thing about t-40s, is that you can get any sound you want out of it - and then if you're anything like me, once you find the sound you like, it stays there. Permanently. Not to mention that figuring out and remembering the various tones can be like solving a Rubik's Cube. So with that in...

Going to buy a new Bass & Amp, in need of some help

If your band is going to be drop tuning (grunge), you might want to look at a 5 string of some sort to save yourself the trouble. This. Also for the love of all that is good and holy, buy ear protection. In fact, buy ear protection for your ear protection.

    Need ideas for this headstock

Go to a scrapyard and get an old hood emblem. Alternately, cut an old license plate into the shape of the headstock, or use it as a truss rod cover.

Club RickenFaker / FakenBacker - Show Your Fake Rics!

There's a used, "Rickenbocker w/Gig bag" at a local (Providence area) pawn shop on Craigslist. I called to find out the asking price and was answered with, "What will you pay for it?" The photo of the thing looks like a typical Aliexpress 4003ish copy. Not affiliated with the seller at all...

How I Got My T-40 (Last Thread of 2014)

Digging the black on black. The crazy thing though - you got one of the very few rosewood fretboard models. You don't see those too often. 'Grats.

CuteCube² Guitar - Play-in System for String Instruments

I can't read a word of German, so I looked up what a ToneRite does. From the website: The secret behind the ToneRite is its ability to continually produce and efficiently transfer vibrational energy into an instrument. ToneRite safely recreates and magnifies the same physics that naturally...

    NOBD: Peavey T-40

I picked up the anodized aluminum ones as well - definitely worth the slightly extra cost.

    NOBD: Peavey T-40

From the photos it looks fine, however, I used http://www.fretsonthenet.com/ (no affiliation) to replace the pickup rings on a t-40. Recommended. I have noticed that T-40s frequently have bashed up front faces - what's up with that? Hate to see the other guy, I guess.

    Peavey US basses...PLEASE COME BACK.

I know I've stated this in at least one other thread, I'd kill for a T-40 in a five string model (maybe with some of the body mass trimmed down and bridge mounted strings). I'm still kicking myself two years later for passing on a U.S. made Fury (white body, white pickguard, white pickup...

Just got a offer from GoDoItYourself Records

Once again, TalkBass is like a public service announcement (see the old Bridging the Music thread that went super nova at the end - it was too good to live). If you google, "go do it yourself records" this thread comes up second on the page, right under their free weebly website. Yup, they...

    A guitarists dream bass player

I think he made a typo in his resolution. I believe what he meant to say was the following: Here's what IMO a great bass player and a bad one in a band: me you He's the great bass player. You (the collective Talkbass) suck. He's trolling.
