    Which bass would you keep

The Elite with no hesitation. Because Paul MalInowski from the band Shiner plays Elite Pbasses exclusively I think. Maybe not the best reason but copying him in the past has never done me a disservice. If you decide to sell that one, maybe look him up. I don’t think he’s got a Sherwood green one.

    Serek Owners/Fan Club

Black is boring. That orange… is very fun to look at. What’s it called? Orange pearl or something? It would never be my first choice if looking at samples, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Seeking Advice: Vintage-Inspired Bass for a Beginner (With a Twist!)

You could buy a used Dub King for not much more than a new Hofner Contemporary. Don’t let the modern vibes fool you. I love my Reverend Fatfish. Probably the best non boutique bass I’ve ever bought.

Seeking Advice: Vintage-Inspired Bass for a Beginner (With a Twist!)

I think I’d recommend a Hofner Contemporary Club Bass. Affordable. Comfortable. Allows you to get vintage tones but its semi hollow nature will give you sustain that the cheapest and most expensive Hofners with their fully hollow bodies won’t. You can make it sound like an old school hofner with...

    Nash B6

Just seeing this…. My B6 arrived in April. It’s awesome. It seems like a bargain to me actually. Typical Nash utilitarian finish work. Cool color. Excellent fret work. Very nice Lollar pickups. Quality tone pots and switches. It appears to have a Mustang bridge which is nice and sensible. I...

    Nash vs Vintage P

Adding my two cents… just because. I’m sure I’m not adding anything new to the conversation. I just got this Nash B6 in April. It’s a light relic. It might not be “authentic”, but it’s very cool and beautiful and significantly more affordable than a CS or vintage Bass VI. It plays and sounds...

When this was a thing I still had a dial up modem. I’ve always been a late adaptor, but still.

What P bass am I looking for?

I got this Fullerton LB-100 from Sweetwater on an impulse. They had a few of these marked down as scratch and dent for around $1450. I picked the lightest one at just a little over 8lbs. All were under 9lbs. It was a great purchase. Though marked as scratch and dent, I couldn’t find...

To plek or not to plek?

Never mind. I found there’s a recent thread where this is discussed. Even has the same title.

To plek or not to plek?

Considering buying a Reverend Fatfish from Sweetwater. Should I have it pleked? $300 for the service sounds like a fair deal as there’s a local reputable shop that offers this service for substantially more if I remember right. Is it worth it? I’ve bought instruments from Sweetwater with just...

    The Reverend Club (part 8)

Hi Reverend fans. Any thoughts about the Fatfish? What about the jazzbomb vs thick brick neck pickup? Does anyone know why the most recent version has a 2x2 headstock vs the reverse 4 in line headstock of earlier versions? I like the esthetic of the reverse but maybe there’s a solid reason they...
