+1 for ear training. It must be done on a daily basis!! Hear the basslines to the music in the tv commerical. Remember it and try to play it. Same thing with radio commericals. Over time you will be surprise what this method does for ear training.

I plan to replace my stock pups with some new Fender 5-String Jazz Bass Samarium Cobalt(noiseless) Pickups, and was wonder- ing if I should go ahead and have the pickup cavities copper shielded or not. The material is cheap; opinions plz!! thanks !!
