Mine is similar, but no 3 position switch for mids (separate switch) , just 2 position switch on the mid pot instead.

And the pot itself has the p/p element? I.E I don't have to get a two/three level knob? Thanks again!

Hello.
I have this old Fretless Roadstar II:
waiting to find a new tuner for it, but also can't find a serial...the neckplate is Blank...

Tuners say: Ibanez, Velve Tune, (any help on a replacement part greatly appreciated!)

is it MIJ? Are the serials printed anywhere else on the instrument?

Looks like an RB840. Almost identical to an RB920 I have except for the body shape and colour. Serial number should be on the neck plate (as well as "Ibanez" and "Made in Japan" I think). Have you tried turning it over?

Good luck with the machine head. They probably still say "Velve Tune B II" on them, but they are smaller than the tuners of the same name they used the previous years.

lol! Yes, I should have made it clearer, the neck plate is blank. It would be nice if the instrument was made in Japan though. I'll be taking it apart and cleaning it up anyway + Need to check the electrics.

Yeah... I did mean turn the neck plate over. I don't think there's any doubt about it being made in Japan. And quite likely in 1983.

Hi folks, i just brought an Ibanez SR535 ( which is discontinued now ). Everything is fine, except i have one trouble, the bass is completely off sounding when i use the mid frequency switch. I've install new battery on. Any help would be great for me.

because their high end basses and the low end / midrange basses share the same name.

fender cats can blow the low end stuff off by saying, "its just a squire"

gibson guys have the same out with epiphone.

with ibanez, the same name is on the headstock, from the $185 plywood starter pack all the way up to the custom shop models.

I am a newbie, taking lessons & just learning to play. I have both a Squire P-bass, and an Ibanez GSR200 (both considered low-end). In my opinion, my Ibanez has a significantly better sound, & for me, it's less bulky.

So Ibanez doesn't have to change the name for their low-ends. They can be proud!

True, but Fender/Squier have their own identity issues. Take a look at this: Youtube comparison
